2017 has gotten off to a great start with over 300 new coaches in 20 countries across all five continents participating in ISA courses in just in the first quarter of the year.
We also launched a key strategic partnership with the International Lifesaving Federation (ILS) for a global standard water safety course that has been an excellent complement to our existing coaching courses and contributed to a safer environment to practice the sport.
The ISA Educational Programs are an integral part of the growth and development of the sport and we are excited to see significant progress being made both in traditional and non-traditional surfing and SUP markets. Our development efforts and expansion truly highlight the global reach of the sport we love.
If you are interested in organizing or participating in an ISA Course and joining the ISA's development efforts please contact the ISA Membership and Development Department or take a look at the ISA Course Schedule.
ISA/ILS Water Safety Course:
Earlier this year the International Surfing Association (ISA) announced a key strategic partnership agreement with the International Lifesaving Federation (ILS) to establish a global standard water safety course for Surf and SUP instructors and promote water safety worldwide.
In February and March the first ISA / ILS International Surf and SUP Instructor Aquatic Rescue and Safety Courses were held in both Sri Lanka and the Maldives. These courses were very well accepted by the local instructors who found them challenging and informative. All of the instructors felt that the course gave them sound knowledge of the skills needed to operate effectively in water safety during their surf lessons. Link here
